Seeing what's out there again..
Looking for some good conversation and looking for friends as I am new to the bay area.
I can be a bit of a hopeless romantic, even a little in love with love. I have been known to throw my heart in completely in every way if it looks like the potential is there. I can open up and give everything of myself in every possible way, and I've gone down with the ship trying with everything in the past. I plan to be more careful with my heart in the future.
I'm The type of guy who is into Flowers, heartfelt letters, romantic gestures and a soft touch and a soft voice and so much more. I'm chivalrous but not a doormat and expect some form of independence, although I do love the traditional family and old fashioned values too. I honor and cherish the person I'm with and treat them always like they should be treated. I'm very open minded and have learned how to change for the better very quickly if I see it, especially if it's a way to treat my partner better. A real listener, to more than just the words, but the heart, soul, and very insightful.
Making my partner happy and feel loved is very important to me. All my friends tell me I'm an incredible catch but I just can't seem to find that one I want that gives her heart to me too, although they all say those serious things to me like, "I feel like I was dead inside for 10 years until I met you" "You are everything I have ever wanted" "You are the most amazing romantic guy I have ever met" "I will never leave you" and on and on. But as we all know, the words out of people's mouths don't always last.
I see the patterns in the girls I have been falling for and am realizing that. I've been beat up a lot by that in the past, have learned much by each time, and have learned how to give all of myself in the process, and make many self-corrections.
I feel strongly that I know exactly what I'm looking for, exactly what I want and what will make me happy, and I am willing to do anything in my power to give that person I love and who loves(gives) me back, everything they have dreamed of in someone and in life. A successful relationship has to be about being there for someone when they are up or down, having faith in that person, and really giving yourself wholly to them. It's a partnership, you're teammates, fighting the battle together, although I would eventually fight it all for her. I am all about deep lifelong relationships with good people.
I have matured enough to have chosen the girl who I didn't feel as much chemistry with 'at first' but I felt was the better "choice". I try very hard to choose for the right reasons. I have steered myself out of numerous strong temptation situations, And I have fallen deeply many times before. I'm looking for love and am a giver personality. I want them to have it all.
I'm not a 'casual' guy anymore and although I enjoy the flattery, bottom line the next one knowing I have virtue and strength Is more important to me, yes it's tough as nails but I'm not dead so.. I think you should figure out if there is a real future together by talking, opening up, and listening, early, not by spending 3 years together going through the 'usual' course of events. Soul searching is the important thing, I have dated a few more 'inexperienced' girls with hope and faith and only the best intentions in my mind and heart and a giving loving hand that they would grow with their words they spoke if I gave them all of me and much more. That hasn't yielded results yet unfortunately though I can say.
Although I love the fine things in life and work very hard, I don't do well with materialism, or those who could not weather the storm with their partner if they lost it all knowing they would rise again.
