Looking in All the Right Places

This is a little awkward to be so public, so open, so soon. Isn’t it more comfortable knowing someone that you are talking to? If you know someone (at least a little) you needn’t worry about profile pics that are 20 years old, or worse, pics of someone else entirely. At lease it would be nice to have had the opportunity to see who you are talking to before making a decision. Now, we make decisions before knowing. What other choice do we have? Options are limited. You can stalk them at work, church, the store, or wherever you are both at, do a quick check to see if there is any chemistry. However, people don’t react well when you walk up to them in the grocery store and ask them for their profile. It’s probably a good time for me to say that I can be a little socially awkward. If you are still reading, I will give you my best effort at giving you a feel of who I am. My marriage lasted 20 years. My two children are sleeping in this morning after coming in last night for their visit (my son is 15 and my daughter is 7). They stay for two weeks each month. You see ladies, this is a package deal for us. Being a great father has been my first and best job. We learn things as go through this adventure. There is so much to see, to do, to learn, and diligently explore. I try to add value to every relationship and situation that I purposefully develop, or wander into. The ideal of “win-win” is important to me. Friendships are collected like valued treasures. I have many dear friends that have been a vital part of my life for over 30 years. I am fiercely loyal to them. Stories too are treasures to be collected. I have a treasure-chest full of crazy tales from folks that have traveled the globe. One of the first things I ask of someone when meeting them in a social setting is for them to share their best story with us. If there is one word to describe my life, it is “adventurer.” I have been blessed to have lived in Japan for nearly six years. Other places that have been explored along the way are: Spain, Croatia, Malta, Italy, Mexico, Canada, S. Korea, and most of the U.S. My hobbies include: motorcycling (retired from riding), bicycling, wine making, story collecting, Akido-jujitsu, impromptu road-trips, and great food. I love historical stuff. Over the past few years, I have been working on a Doctorate in business management. The dissertation is the last part and is about to start in the fall. This should take about a year to complete. Professionally, I work in sales and marketing and my days are long. I have also recently launched a consulting company (employee engagement/org culture). Community service is also a large part of my life. I believe strongly in giving back to the community that has given me so much opportunity and joy. Currently, my life is in a bit of a transition. For a while, the thought of slowing down has been gaining on me. I’ve been so busy that dating has been difficult. I have been single for over 5 years, and want to have a loving, giving, committed relationship with a wonderful Christian woman. It is best if you are a person of faith as I am. I am a committed Christian. What I am looking for is someone to hijack my adventures, add to my ever-growing pool of great relationships & stories, and be a partner in crime. I am hoping for someone who is very affectionate, warm, and joyful. Lastly, dresses and stilettos are like a lovely combination of catnip and kryptonite. Don’t be a stranger. Stop by and say hello.
